Kibitzer's Corner
Sep-06-11  andrewjsacks: "Sharp tactics" would practically be an understatement...
Sep-06-11  rilkefan: Beautiful game.

I figured white would launch a kingside attack based on Bh6 around move 32, but Ivanchuk just pushes the a pawn, which I had expected to fall off earlier - e.g. at move 24.

Sep-06-11  DWINS: Houdini 1.5 slightly favors Black for most of the game, but Sutovsky starts to go wrong at move 27. Houdini prefers 27...Qc2 (-0.76) instead of 27...Rxe2 (0.04).

Sutovsky should have played 32...Be5 or 32...f6 after which Houdini feels that the game is completely even. His 32...Rf8 turns the advantage over to White (0.79). The final mistake seems to be 35...Bd4 (2.79) instead of 35...Nb5 (0.99) after which there is no saving the game.

Oct-02-14  Rob Morrison: I hereby dub this "The Immortal Queen the a-Pawn Game"
