Mar-26-22  hussam0101: 19...e5 feels like black forgot en passsnt exists, or somehow thought giving white the open e file was a good idea.

Teyss: <hussam0101> Yes 19...e5 is wrong but maybe Black was precisely <hoping> for White to take en passant and then Nxe6 so he could win the exchange with Bxc3... and then never did because he was unsuccessfully trying to fence off the attack: if 22...Bxe1, 23.Nf8+ Rxf8 (...Kg7 or Kh8 24.Qf6+; ...Kg8 24.Bd5+) 24.Re7+ Kh8 (...Kg7 25.Bd5+) 25. Bf6+ Kg8 (...Rxf6 26.Qxf6+ and mates) 26. Bd5+ wins.

Since it's Babel's only occurrence in the database, the pun fits the name but not the game, maybe "The Confusion of Tempos" or "The Great Tower" would have been better.

PS: anybody has the same issue with the engine? Out of order for a long time now.

Mar-27-22  Brenin: <Teyss: PS: anybody has the same issue with the engine? Out of order for a long time now.> Yes, no response for much of the day. Very frustrating!
