Feb-21-15  TheBish: Great tactical finish. Someone noticed this game, as it is a Guess the Move game. But I'm a little surprised it hasn't been a Game of the Day, or featured for a POTD for move 26 or 27. For a game that starts so symmetrical and bland, the finish is a big surprise!
Dec-06-19  areknames: <For a game that starts so symmetrical and bland, the finish is a big surprise!> Yes, it's a completely forgettable game until 25...Bd1?? (25...Re8). The bishop is awkwardly placed on a4 (that's why I prefer 20...Bd7 and it's a dead draw, no problems) but it should only go to d1 if W plays 25.Ra7. The threat on e6 was not easy to see however, and within a few moves Vokac wreaks absolute havoc on Black's position.
Dec-06-19  areknames: <But I'm a little surprised it hasn't been a Game of the Day> For that to occur we need a somewhat juvenile pun: Vokac Wreaks Havoc.
Dec-06-19  jith1207: I'ma Wreck (Marec) havoc doesn't sound so juvenile. :) I guess, the beauty of the pun is in the eyes of the beholder!
Dec-06-19  areknames: <I'ma Wreck (Marec) havoc> That is actually brilliant, you should submit it!
Dec-06-19  jith1207: And I would say, someone familiar with a-rek-names should have come up with this pun :D
Dec-06-19  jith1207: Have gotta credit, without you calling for this, I'd not have come up with this pun. Submitted.
Dec-07-19  areknames: LOL, that was quick!
Dec-07-19  jith1207: Ha ha, funny! Just like the exercise in fusillity few days ago.
Dec-07-19  jith1207: Thanks for kibitzing on this game though on a comment asked 4 years ago, this game is very good.

Based on the comment from <TheBish>, I was able to find the ending from stated move #26. But I wouldn't have guessed going into this attack from the symmetrical position.

Honza Cervenka: 24.Qa3 was a little slip, which could have allowed black to consolidate his uncomfortable position caused by suboptimal choices in moves 20-22. 24.Qb7 or 24.Qb6 were objectively better options of white at the moment. But black completely missed tactical threat hidden in 24.Qa3 and 25.Bh3, that is the idea of 26.Bxe6 fxe6 27.Qe7, he played careless 25...Bd1? instead of 25...Re8 (25...Bf6 stops the threat as well but 25...Re8 is definitely better choice) and allowed Marek to "wreak havoc". The combination with sac of Queen is very cute.
