Kibitzer's Corner
Oct-21-15  optimal play: 6...c5 seems to have been a novelty in this variation back in 1884

16...Nb4 ? Instead 16...Qxb2 seems to win a pawn without any problems.

35...g5 is ok, but inferior to 35...b5 /\ since if 36.Rxf4 (which 35...g5 seeks to prevent) then 36...Re1+ 37.Kh2 Qd6 --->

Burns has allowed a potential win to slip away with some underwhelming moves, and now Fisher has a chance to snatch victory ...

46.Qg4+ ?? ... unfortunately he blows it!

Instead, 46.Qf8 !! wins after 47.Qxh6+ etc...

But then right at the very end, White could still have pulled out an unlikely victory with 50.f3 !!

But what does he come up with?

50.Qg4+ ?

oh well ... missed chances from both sides :(
