Nov-29-10  wanabe2000: On move 94.Qh3# 1-0 if the game score is correct. Reported in Chessdom http://reports.chessdom.com/news-20...
Nov-30-10  Alfa110: yeah. Ivanchuk missed the 94.Qh3#

now I don't feel so bad when miss a mate in one :D

Nov-30-10  turbo231: He must have been low on time. I think it was a blitz tourney.

MSteen: I missed a mate in one on chess.com today. And then I lost on time. I was beating myself up. Now I don't feel so bad.
May-19-22  AlicesKnight: Ouch! - what a miss on move 94. A fascinating struggle. So who was/is the best ladies player ever?

perfidious: <AlicesKnight....So who was/is the best ladies player ever?>

Unlike the men's game, for which one can advance various arguments for a select few contenders, on the distaff side there seems no doubt of who deserves that honour.

  OhioChessFan: Very nice pun.
May-19-22  Cheapo by the Dozen: The engine sees 22 c3 as throwing away most of White's substantial advantage.
May-19-22  Cheapo by the Dozen: Rapid tourney. Long game. It's easy to imagine serious time pressure.
May-19-22  Viking707: Judit Polgar was the greatest women chess player, who beat many of the best men grandmasters, with elan and grace.
May-19-22  goodevans: Just to be clear, BOTH of these top GMs missed the mate on move 94. It's not like Judit was under any particular pressure to play 93...Rf4.
May-19-22  Carrubo: Goodevans: true.
May-20-22  Brenin: <Cheapo by the Dozen: The engine sees 22 c3 as throwing away most of White's substantial advantage.> It does seem unnecessarily weakening, creating an ideal home on b3 for Black's N. Perhaps better would be something less commital, such as 22 Qf2, putting pressure on the dark squares on Black's Q-side, and with the possibility of a positional exchange sacrifice Rd6 in mind.
