Kibitzer's Corner
Sep-21-10  bumpmobile: A pretty convincing victory against an admittedly much lower rated opponent. I particularly liked the pretty 19...Ne5 putting the pair of knights side by side and both en prise.
Sep-21-10  ycbaywtb: nice win by Judit//must have been pleasing to use tactics that way
Sep-22-10  twinlark:

18...Qb6 is a good move, and an even better trap. What was White thinking when he played 19. f4? Did he seriously think Polgar had blundered and that he was going win a piece with 20. f5?

Come to think of it, 12. d4 was also a seriously ordinary move.

LIFE Master AJ: 19...Nd5! (Thanks <Jim> for the puzzle.)
May-22-15  RookFile: This more or less became a delayed Ruy Lopez, where sometimes white plays d3 before playing d4 at a more favorable moment. It didn't work here. Maybe white should have played h3 before d4, so the bishop doesn't go to g4. That's what you do most of the time in the Ruy.
May-22-15  RookFile: So 12. h3 seems reasonable.
May-22-15  andrewjsacks: <bumpmobile> Well said.
May-22-15  morfishine: Despite the rating difference, one would hope a 2300+ rated player would offer a little more resistance, especially from the White side. Very excellent and fun game to go over nonetheless
May-22-15  kevin86: White's pieces are about to fall like dominoes.

Check It Out: Neat game. I don't get the pun.
May-22-15  FairyPromotion: <CIO> It sounds like "Summer Night Fever."

Check It Out: Sounds like a bad 80s movie. How far off base am I?
May-22-15  thulium: <morfishine> 2300+? Is Polgar so much higher rated?
May-22-15  optimal play: I assume "Samhouri Knight Fever" is a pun on the 1977 movie "Saturday Night Fever"

Unfortunately for Ahmed he was unable to stay alive in this game against Judit

;)

May-22-15  thulium: I see she's better than I realized at 2675.

Check It Out: <op> That may be it. Seems that Judit was more than a woman for Ahmed.

Indeed. Just the diagonal opened pinning the WN would frighten anyone, "but hey, we'll coordinate later!" seems to be W pieces plan.

May-23-15  morfishine: <thulium> On the one hand, ~400 points is significant; on the other, I would hope a 2300+ rated player would better position their pieces. The fact that Black could so quickly enter tactics tells me White missed something in the opening. Great game by Polgar!

OhioChessFan: Pun is definitely a takeoff on Saturday Night Fever. Pretty bad play by a 2300, but there you go.
