Jun-25-10  mpl: The thread is Δ 24.. ♘h3 and 25.. ♖g1+ 26. ♖xg1 ♘xf2++ Since moves of the h-pawn looses quickly due to rooks on the h- and g-line, 24. ♖g1 is forced. But then the bishop on a2 is lost: 24. ♖g1 ♖xg1+ 25. ♖xg1 ♖xg1+ 26. ♔xg1 ♘e2+ 27. ♔f1 ♘xc3

  perfidious: In the tournament book of Nottingham 1936, Alekhine criticises 7....Ne7 even then, and I was surprised to find how often it's since been played.

One nice win for Black was Tylor-Lasker from Nottingham, showcasing Lasker's tremendous endgame skill.

Jul-17-10  CapablancaFan122: <mpl> Thanks for providing the line after 24.Rg1. I saw that move and thought it was legit, and didn't understand why Nisipeanu resigned. Of course I didn't consider Ne2+ followed by the capture of the bishop.
