senojes: I am coaching at my club using Kotov's excellent "Play Like a Grandmaster" and this game is on pages 84-85. Except that the book spells Neishtadt as Neyshtadt. Houdini rates Black's 25... Rb4 as weak [-0.18] compared to 25... d5 [-1.20]. The reason is that better than White's 29.exd5 [-1.28] was 29.Bc5 [0.00]. The take-home lesson here is that even in what seems an overwhelming attack, the attacker can make a mistake, allowing the defender to escape. But if the defender is resigned to losing he may miss the mistake and the escape clause and just play automatically to lose.
