  fredthebear: Another routine KIA mislabel

B25
Sicilian, Closed
1 e4 c5 2 Nc3 Nc6 3 g3 g6 4 Bg2 Bg7 5 d3 d6 (...e6 is also very playable)

Some might argue that this is a sub variation of B24 Sicilian, Closed, Smyslov variation 1. e4 c5 2. Nc3 Nc6 3. g3 g6 4. Bg2 Bg7 5. d3 e6 6. Be3 Nd4 7. Nce2

The 7th world chess champion Vasily Smyslov was a great exponent of the Sicilian, Closed.

FTB wishes CG.com would stop labeling every kingside fianchetto as A07.

fredthebear: Tactically, Black's final move 25...Rf1# is a zwischenzug check (instead of re-capturing the Be5) and it robs the pinned Bg2 on the long diagonal.

White pays a severe price for the Nd1 interrupting the back rank coverage.
