  perfidious: Black was doubtless aware of the difficulties which awaited him in what had been a tabiya in the 1970s, after 19....Nxf1 20.Rxf1 Bxf4 21.Qf2 e5 22.g3 Qd6, as played in Smejkal vs Karpov, 1973, a critical game for the eventual outcome at Leningrad, but his novelty was most unfortunate.
