  Phony Benoni: D'oh!

7...Nxe4 is greedy, but probably playable if followed by 8...Nxc3. However 7...0-0, avoiding most of the whole stupid mess, is best.

Aug-22-09  timhortons: < Phony Benoni>

Wow phony! you got a chance to play with GM antonio?

Phony Benoni: <timhortons> I got a chance to face GM Antonio. The word <play> does not seem appropriate for this game.
Aug-22-09  Dredge Rivers: Black should have played the Benoni. (Phony or otherwise!)
Dec-11-09  hedgeh0g: Good luck trying to answer 1.e4 with the Benoni.
Dec-12-09  Red October: actually a variation of 1.e4 c5 can transpose to the Old Benoni
Dec-12-09  zanshin: Ouch <PB>. But maybe you should have played on a little longer ...
Dec-12-09  Marmot PFL: 7...b5 looks interesting
Jul-16-10  LIFE Master AJ: One for the "OOOPS!" category?

(NOT criticizing ... I have done this many times myself ... I once lost a tournament game in like five moves ... I was too busy chatting with a friend to notice that my opponent had attacked my Queen. hee-hee)

FSR: If you look at Opening Explorer, you'll see that 6...Qe7 is known, but that much more common is 6...0-0 7.Nd3 Bb6 8.e5 Ne8 9.Nd5 d6.

  al wazir: What happens after 8...Nxc3 ? If 9. Re1, then 9...Nxd1 or even 9...Nxa4 10. Rxe7+ Bxe7 looks playable. If 9. dxc3, then 9...Ne6 10. Re1 O-O 11. Nxc5 Qxc5 12. Bxd7 Bxd7 13. Qxd7 Rad8.

Phony Benoni: <al wazir> Yeah, I know. See the first kibitz.
Aug-10-15  weary willy: I know a guy named Phony Benoni
He's as skinny as a stick of macaroni
Other guy sacced his queen on e8
No other reason than a next move mate

Phony’s comments comin’ every day
He always has good things to say
Is Kibitzing matched by his deadly play?.
