Richard Taylor: Great game by Black!
Jun-30-09  syracrophy: 22... ♖xf4!! A perfect candidate for a GOTD.

Devastating attack! The checks between the moves 26-31 are really painful, unforgivable. I would have liked to see Hensman's face after the "quiet" 32...♖f2!

Jul-07-09  Cardinal Fang: This is just beautiful. White's 35th baffled me at first but he is doomed. The threat is ...Qh5+ followed by ...Qh4#.
Jul-11-09  syracrophy: And the black ♗ of light squares never gave a step out of home!

P W Power vs K Jensen, 1977

A tour de force.

  Jonathan Sarfati: Well played attack!

Jonathan Sarfati: The computer says that 22... Rxf4 wasn't the best, preferring the quieter buildup with 22... Bd5 then letting the B into play with ... c5. But the R sac was sound, and the best White could get was struggling to draw with 26.Bd3 exd3 27.Qf3. After 26.Bc4, Black gave White no chances.
