Aug-22-14  waustad: FYI, I looked it up and there some time ago are several players named Kiss from Hungary, more than a page:
Aug-22-14  waustad: Clearly I wasn't sober for that one.
Aug-22-14  yadasampati: 27. g6!! is the start of a beautiful mating combination, sacrificing rook and queen and a tricky (discovered) double check in the end
Aug-22-14  Tim Delaney: Tibor is a common Hungarian given name. Could this be Tibor Weinberger, a strong master who lived in California in the 1960's?

If so, I have played against him. See T Weinberger vs T Delaney, 1966

Aug-22-14  GrandMaesterPycelle: Pretty impressive for a 10 year old.
Aug-22-14  catlover: Beautiful combination. It would make a nice late-week POTD.

kevin86: Queen sac follow by double-check and mate= the great kiss-off.

Penguincw: It amazes me how quickly pun submissions can turn into GOTD's:

vs Tibor
Kiss of Death >

I have some old (but lame) 3 year old puns that could use some help. ;)

Aug-22-14  yadasampati: Nice game Mr. Delaney. That was almost 50 years ago! Are you still playing chess?
Aug-22-14  rickycota: A defensive player should not play sicilian. Black dosen't look to attack so he gets destroyed.

sleepyirv: I was sure when I saw "Kiss vs. Tibor" that it was a game between computers.

Thank you for the kind words. It was, of course, my best win ever. And BTW, I had lost my original record of the game. After many attempts to find it, I finally succeeded right here on BEST CHESS SITE EVER,

I no longer play, at least not competitively. Currently I play duplicate bridge.
