Jan-08-09  Ulhumbrus: Instead of 20...Nb4, 20...Nd4 may gain the advantage.
Jan-09-09  piteira8: After reading many of your posts, I am willing to admit that you have a much better understanding of the game than I do. However, I think that that "20.. Nd4 MAY gain the advantage" is not a satisfactory assessment of what could have happened after 20...Nd4. The most obvious reason for this is that 20...Nd4 leaves the pawn at a6 alone and shivering. Svidler, who knows something about chess, did not play 20...Nd4. Why?
Jan-09-09  anandrulez: very impressive by magnus here
Jan-12-09  ajile: After 10..Be6 White has a long term advantage based on Black's weak e6 pawn and square. 11.Bxe6 fxe6.
Jan-14-09  kozo: After 20. ... Nd4 21. Nxd4 cxd4 22.Bxe7 Qxe7 23. e5 white can get away with Qxa6 and then come back for the d pawn, compared to 20. ... Nb4 21.Bxb4?! cxb4 22. Qxa6 Ra8 23. Qb5 Qxb5 24. axb5 Rab8 leaving the pawn weak. Black seems to be losing faster after Nb4.
Aug-08-09  lost in space: Hi ajile,

I disagree. Yes, black got a double pawn and if white is able to attack them the advatage is on the white side.

But Black got as well the control over the squares d5 and f5 as well as a semi open f-file.

I would call this an inballance and it is very unclear which side can make use of this inballance.

I personally prefere to play with such double pawns (at least OTB)

Aug-26-10  Jambow: That really is a well played game by magnus, It was like a chip here then over here and finally he is in.
