Dec-23-08  percyblakeney: Radjabov keeps scoring wins against strong opponents with black (especially with the KID). Just in 2008 it's now eleven black wins against 2690+ opposition, nine of them against 2700+ players.

Here 20. ... fxe4 was suggested by engines, one possible line being 20. ... fxe4 21. fxe4 Nfxd5 22. exd5 Nxd5:

After a king move from white, black can play Qc6 and build up lots of threats against the white king.

Radjabov's opponents need to quickly read the new QualityChess book "Beat The KID" by Markos. :-)

Dec-27-08  Brown: <notyetagm> Besides the way Radjabov plays, the old Nbd7 systems played by Bronstein and others, though not fashionable, have never been refuted. I doubt any book will prove otherwise.
Dec-27-08  KingG: <notyetagm> Do you have the book? From what I hear the analysis, especially in the Ne1 and b4 lines isn't anything special.
Dec-28-08  Brown: <KingG> Of course! Author's follow the top 20 players' games to WRITE the books in the first place. They certainly don't need to read them.
Dec-28-08  refutor: it's too bad that White couldn't have been more patient and tried to squeeze black a little more. without getting 30. ...Bxd5 in Black is down a piece. Could he move the knight instead?
Jan-01-09  KingG: <refutor> I think White has serious problems. Black is pawn up, and is constantly threatening ...Nxd5 sacrifices. In fact after 30.Nb2(or almost any other move), Black can already probably play 30...Nxd5 31.exd5 Bxd5, with 3 pawns for the piece and very good play.

Another problem White has is his weak g5 pawn, which can be attack with a rook on f4 and queen on e7. White also has a pretty unsafe king.

Mar-15-10  waustad: I think is the the game Carlsen mentioned when discussing his win over Aronian in the blindfold game in Amber 2010.
