Kibitzer's Corner
Oct-30-08  Udit Narayan: What is the meaning of this annotation? Sorry, I don't understand Spanish.
Oct-30-08  Jim Bartle: It doesn't appear on my browser. If you can copy it here, I'll translate it.
Oct-30-08  Udit Narayan: On 9...f5, it says "Garcia Palermo ofrece tablas.."
Oct-30-08  Karpova: I don't do either but I remember (though I'm not 100% sure) that Garcia-Palermo offered a draw and Larsen declined. So maybe that's the meaning of the annotation.
Oct-30-08  Resignation Trap: <Karpova> is correct. "Tablas" is Spanish for "draw". In most European languages, the French word "Remis" is used. However, the French word for "draw" is "nulle". Confused?
Oct-30-08  Udit Narayan: thanks friends!
Oct-31-08  patzer of patzers: um, I know I'm not part of this conversation, but on my screen, the annotation is in English.

...

Dec-25-09  Marmot PFL: Larsen must be crazy to play these openings against good players and refuse a draw.
Nov-14-13  henjutsu: Or in other words, brave. We learn from failing, right?

Then again, this was his last game. =(
