Sep-21-08  DoubleCheck: Main line:

If 32. Ra7

33. Qh6! Rxe8 (forced since no defence for g7 mate)
34. Rxe8+ (wins queen) Qxe8
35. Rxe8+ Nf8
36. Qxf8+ mate

Better for black was probably something like:
25...Re7
26. Rxe7 Qxe7
27. Nxb5 cxb5
28. d5

Sep-21-08  LaFreaK: 25...Re7
26.Rxe7 Qxe7
27.Nxb5 Qxc5
28.dxc5 and black will lose the game
Sep-21-08  NewLine: Wow! Each of the black pieces are totally out of play!
Sep-21-08  zoren: Nice game by Victor.
Sep-21-08  Samagonka: Nice finishing.

Nowhere close to mainline. Try 32...Rc8 instead.

Sep-21-08  DoubleCheck: <MostlyAverageJoe Nowhere close to mainline. Try 32...Rc8 instead.>

32... Rc8 as you suggested

If 32...Rc8
33. Rxd7 ! Qxd7
34. Nf6+ (wins queen)
Is that what you were refering too?

Thats why i considered Ra7 for this reason

Sep-22-08  kevin86: A brilliant show-stopper at the end.

The knight is invunerable due to the loss of queen after:32...♖xe8 33 ♖xe8+ forks king and queen.

However,what happens after:

32...♖c8 33 ♕h6 ♖xe8 34 ♖xe8+ ♕xe8 25 ♖xe8+ ♖xe8 and black has a rook and piece for the queen?

  Breunor: DoubleCheck,after 32 ... Rc8 33 R x d7 I think black can simply play Q x g5?

Best wishes,

Breunor
