  Retireborn: 8...Bc5 is a mistake which allows White to seize a strong initiative with 9.Bf4!

8...Nc6 would be better, since then 9.Bf4 could be met with 9...Nxd4 10.Rxd4 d6.

MVL smashes through with 17.Nxe6! (fxe6 18.Bxg6+ hxg6 19.Bxd6 Bxd6 20.Rxd6) but then misses the clean win with 18.Rhe1! (put your rook on line of queen!)

This leads to an interesting Q vs 3 pieces struggle where White is unable to show a real advantage. He is handicapped by the weakness of his back rank (29.Qxb8 Re1#) and later by the exposure of his king.
