Kibitzer's Corner
May-18-08  brankat: A nice win <Alphastar>!
Jul-22-08  Alphastar: Thanks <brankat>

It was the last (9th) round of the tournament. I had started the tournament badly (first three rounds I scored 0.5/3). After that I scored my first win and got a confidence boost. I barely drew my 5th round game (J Weggen vs J Vermeend, 2007) and scored another neat win in the 6th round (G Bollen vs J Weggen, 2007).

unfortunately in the free afternoon after the 6th round I caught a flu. Involved lots of puking, going to the bathroom etc. I didn't eat anything the rest of the day, and the next day in the morning nothing either. I played the 7th and 8th round with a grumbling stomach and lost both games.

So I had a 3/8 score then, and I felt like playing for the attack for a change in the last round (I'm more positionally inclined, though I try to be an overall, complete player) which resulted in this game.

4/9 overall score, not too bad considering it was my first serious tournament ever.
