Kibitzer's Corner
May-22-08  ToTheDeath: Incredibly accurate game by Colle. Not a single error here, just flawless positional play and sharp tactics to blow away one of Britain's best players.

The nice point is 27...Bxf4 28.Rxf4 costs Black his queen.

Also if Black tries the natural 28...Kh8 29.Bxd6 Rxd6 30. Rg3 wins the Queen or the f6 pawn, with carnage to follow.

Tabanus: <fredthebear> It's the jubileum tournament of the Ghent chess club (Ghent in Belgium, Gent in Dutch).

BAJones: 12...Nxe4 should have been played. It was essential to eliminate the central White Knight at e4. Not doing so enables White to seize the initiative. Excellent attacking play by Colle.
