keypusher: Has anyone submitted this game to a computer? Shirov got an opening advantage (16....Bg5 looks questionable), but the position looked defensible for Black until his rook got locked out of play on h6. After all, Adams should have been able to give up the a-pawn and still hold.

Impressive ultra-positional stuff from Shirov. Historical antecedent for this game: Rubinstein vs K Treybal, 1929

Peligroso Patzer: This was the first game of the tie-break played yesterday after Shirov and Adams stood even at 3.0 - 3.0 at the conclusion of the regulation phase of their FIDE Candidates Match. The game was played at a rapid time control (25 mins. + 10 sec. per move).
