Kibitzer's Corner
Sep-26-09  birthtimes: Extraordinary co-ordination of the White forces for a successful attack on a king who refused to castle...after 20 moves no White piece is beyond its third rank, and yet everything is in perfect position just waiting to explode...
Sep-03-16  GeneM: David LeMoir included this game in his book "How to Become a Deadly Chess Tactician" (Gambit, 2002). See chapter "Tail-Lights" > "Sting in the Tail", Page 152. . LeMoir's purpose is to label 24. Nb3-d4!! a "substitution sacrifice", to secure d4 for White's other knight, and to "draw the black queen to the e6-square". . Fritz says the position evaluation spiked big in White's favor with Black's 21st move ---> 21. a2-a4 (+.6) a7-a6? (+2.8). Better was ke8-f7. . 23. Nf3-d4!! would have worked just as well as the actual 23. Nb3-d4. . This game is Not in Mega Database 2008.

perfidious: A strange turn in this quasi-open Sicilian: White's queen's bishop never moved, his queen was all over the shop while neglecting development, yet he obtained a won position.

kingscrusher: A rather cute instructive game showing how a delay in castling with 20...Nb7 can be so costly because Nez. brings out his special effects tactics department.

  GrahamClayton: 20...0-0 21.Nc5 Qc5 22. Be3 Qc7 23. Bb3 and Black will have to give up one of his Q-side pawns.
