Kibitzer's Corner
Oct-10-08  jerseybob: The move order in some of these early King's Indians is interesting, the way Blacks were willing to go into a queens-off no-castling ending, keep open the possibility of playing the Old Indian, and to avoid certain move orders like the 4-Pawns attack. Whites rarely went into that ending; it's not bad for black. We now know the Old Indian's a snooze and the 4-Pawns isn't as fearsome as thought. Also interesting from these games is how clueless many whites seemed in facing the K.I.D. Boleslavsky was such a genius at handling this defense, and the way he seizes on white's lemon 19.b4? is fun to watch.
Jun-29-09  birthtimes: Yes, according to this database, his record as Black with the King's Indian from 1941-1951 was + 11 - 3 = 15 for 63.8%!!!

A true pioneer of the King's Indian in many ways...
