Kibitzer's Corner
Apr-20-07  nikolajewitsch: What, no kibitzing yet? That guy, a mere FM, has beat Fritz10, something Kramnik could not do! Ok, it was only rapid but it is still very impressive.

Oh, and by the way: Very poor sportsmanship by Fritz here not to resign earlier....

alexmagnus: I was life at that game. It was a part of the "Plachess challenge" - Playchess offered 100 ducats to the one who checkmates Fritz in a game with any time control. Gramlich took the challenge. He lost two games before he won this one. BTW he is an FM now (got his title a couple of weeks ago.)
Apr-20-07  nikolajewitsch: Cool, must have been he really the first human ever to beat Fritz10 (as i read somewhere but could not verify)?
Apr-20-07  nimzo knight: How do u guys know it is Fritz 10.
Apr-20-07  argishti: HOLLYYY CRAP!! this guy beat fritz in 2006?? that is amazing.

Jun-07-07  scholes: amazing game for a 20 min rapid ,positions involved huge complications but still Gramlich won against fritz 10 which might be even running on some quadcore ,really impressive indeed
Oct-24-07  babakova: It's always sweet to see computer programs lose to humans. This game is a gem.
Jul-30-08  lunacyfrog: <alexmagnus>

Actually, Kramnik also beat fritz 10 a couple of times in rapid before the actual match, or so he says.

He also missed wins in very promising positions against Fritz in games 1 and 2, and we all know what happened after that...

Dec-23-11  The Rocket: very nice play, hardt to beat fritz 10 given its streigth was in tactical search compared to latter decompiled rewritten versions with slow selective search.

However lets not forget its the benoni defence by fritz which might be lost by force.

At the very least its concidered dubious since white gets a nice edge without much trouble if he knows the theory. In any case nice to see he finishes of the engine as well.
