  ToTheDeath: Impressive endgame technique for such a young man.
Mar-28-08  ounos: I ponder whether White missed the strong 40. ...Rc3! when playing 39. Rc6. Maybe 40. Nb8 offered more resistance, unless I'm missing something obviously wrong with that.

  Domdaniel: Dunne wasn't exactly bad at endings either, though he is outplayed here. Some years ago he ground me down in an equal N-vs-B (and several pawns) ending, where I cracked under the strain and let the draw slip after 80 moves.

We also played on the same club team for a couple of years, and he was the type of player who concentrated hard at all times, regardless of whose move it was. No strolling, no idly glancing at other boards: total focus.

I wonder whether he picked that up from Kasparov - though Dunne's natural playing style is closer to Karpov.
