  LIFE Master AJ: A very powerful game by Sasikiran, he outplays the (former) FIDE World Champ. He makes it look almost easy ...
May-12-07  Tomlinsky: A much more successful outing against Kasim's King's Indian than Sasikiran vs Kasimdzhanov, 2002.

  fredthebear: If instead 45...BxRd5?? 46.Qf5# is a Swallow Tail/Gueridon Mate w/check on the same file as the king. (The Dovetail Mate occurs w/check on the same diagonal as the king.)

With this mating pattern in mind, 46...Qe8/Bf7 (to prevent 47.Qg6#) fails to 47.Rf5+.

  Korora: I saw the beginning: 43.♗xg6 ♔xg6 44. ♕xh5+
Mar-20-25  mel gibson: I feel embarrassed that I wasted time looking at other moves.

Stockfish 17 says mate in 13:

43. Bxg6

(43. Bxg6 (1.Bxg6 Bg4 2.Rxh5+ Kxg6 3.Qxg4+ Kf7 4.Rh7 Rxc6 5.Qxg7+ Ke6 6.Qxf8 Qd6 7.Rxb5 Rc5 8.Rxc5 Qxc5 9.bxc5 Kd5 10.Rxe7 Kc6 11.Qf6+ Kb5 12.Qb6+ Ka4 13.Qb4+) +M13/75 120)

White wins _ mate in 13.

Mar-20-25  stacase: 44...Kf6 and then what?
Mar-20-25  Rdb: <stacase: 44...Kf6 and then what?>

45 Nd4 creates mate threat 46 Rf5+ BXf5 47 QXf5#

To deal with that mate threat , black moves 45... Qc8

Mar-20-25  TheaN: Oops, positional change oversight: took me a while to spot <43.Bxg6>, which is fairly obvious honestly to take out the defender of h5. 43....Bxd5? 44.Qxh5#, and probably best is 43....Bg4 but now 44.Rxh5+! Kxg6 (Bxh5 45.Qxh5#) 45.Qxg4+ +- wins at least two pawns with an ongoing attack (#11 apparently).

What I miscalculated was that after <43....Kxg6 44.Qxh5+ Kf6> Qg5 isn't mate: somehow pictured the queen on both g5 and h5. In hindsight the idea of <45.Nd4!> is logical, bring in another piece with a clear threat: Rf5+ with Qxf5#. Black stops this with <45....Qc8 (Bxd5/Bf7 46.Qf5#)> and now <46.Rg5 #2> decides as Black has no defense against both Qg6# and Rf5+, ie 46....Qe8/Bf7 47.Rf5+ B/Qxf5 48.Qxf5#. No cigar for me, as I missed the Kxg6>Kf6 as defensive idea.

<stacase: 44...Kf6 and then what?>

This occurred in the game and White responded correctly. 45.Nd4 threatening Rf5+, after 45....Qc8 46.Rg5 to threaten Qg6# and still Rf5+ to which there's no defense.
