Kibitzer's Corner
Jul-30-06  slavito2: After 57.Rxd7 they should've stoped.
Jul-31-06  RandomVisitor: The time control they were playing was 45 minutes for the game, with 5 seconds added per move made (45 + 5). Who knows how much time Zor champ had on its clock. Given that it was a final and that computers were involved (which might crash, hang or blow the time control) it was perhaps a good strategic decision to play out to the end.
Jul-31-06  whatthefat: Rybka was up a pawn in the middlegame, there's its problem.
Jul-31-06  lopium: Why not 22.Bxd8? And how a computer can play 27...b3? maybe a3 was better and if Rb1 and later Be1, then probably b5 is a good move.
Aug-15-06  spirit: zor champ???!!!
Aug-15-06  DCP23: Zor Champ is actually Hydra.
Aug-16-06  spirit: zor champ is hydra!!? please proof this.
Aug-16-06  jdoliner: Read this article Spirit http://www.chessbase.com/newsdetail...
Aug-16-06  THE pawn: Since Hydra won against all Rybkas in the second freestyle tournament, does this mean it is officially stronger than rybka?
Aug-17-06  gala.martin: <THE pawn> I guess that rybka did not support multi processor in that time. In the last freestyle, hydra did not qualify at all!
Aug-17-06  spirit: thanks <jdoliner> now me know
Aug-17-06  THE pawn: <gala.martin> he didn't qualify at all because he signed out before the finals.
Aug-22-06  spirit: <THE pawn> why?
Dec-02-06  Confuse: same question as lopium.
Jun-16-07  MarvinTsai: I guess the ratings of chess programs would be like: Rybka > Hydra > Shredder > Junior > Fritz. I'd like to see more Hydra-Rybka games.
