Jan-15-06  woodenbishop: He may have been demolished by Fischer in Vancouver, B.C.(1971), but here Taimanov beautifully defeats the tricky Nezhmetdinov.
Jan-15-06  ughaibu: What has Fischer got to do with it??? If there was someone who when they posted a Fischer win began their comment with "he may have been demolished by Tal in the candidates at Bled (1959) but here. . . " how would you characterise such a poster for your psychology professor?

waddayaplay: LOL, don't you know Fischer is the most important chessplayer? ;-)
Feb-05-06  ughaibu: The comment would be slightly sensible if this game had been played after the Fischer match, but twenty years before. . . . ?!
Jul-12-06  Jgamazo: According to Suetin, White should play 27.Qg2! a3 28.gxh7+ Kh8 29.Bxc4 Qxc4 (if 29...Qd4 30.Bc3!) 30.Bh6! with an irresistible attack.

plang: Taimanov is a great player who played many beautiful games. It is too bad he is primarily remembered for the Fischer match.
Sep-17-10  sevenseaman: <Igamazu> True, Nez missed the boat When both attacks were hotting up Nez had the drop on Taimanov.
