Kibitzer's Corner
Feb-27-10  lentil: I don't understand why B played 22 ... d4. Sure, it frees /d5 for the subsequent 24. ... Nbd5, winning the N/c3, but as far as I can see, 22. ... Nb6 does the job just as well: 23. Rb3 Na4 24. Ra3 Rxc3
Feb-27-10  1. h4: 22...Nb6 is met by 23.Qf4, countering Black's attack on c3 with one on the Re5.

22...d4! protects Black's rook on e5, leaving him free to capture White's c3 Knight if White ever moves his Queen to f4.

Everett: The Dutch is such a strange opening. This is a case in point, when Black trades off his DSB intentionally before setting up the Stonewall. On surface it doesn't make sense, but it seems White cannot stop an eventual ..e5.

Also, the Stonewall interestingly makes both remaining bishops worse, and it is really the knights that take center stage. Black plays to stuff Whites LSB and methodically advances in the center.

22..d4 is the star move of the match, allowing the subsequent N maneuver and winning pin.
