  MissScarlett: The correct score includes:

<10. g4 Ne7 11. h3 Ng6 12. Rd1+ Bd7 13. Be3 Kc8 14. Kg2 Bb4 15. Ne2 Re8 16. Nc1 Bf8 17. Nd3 b6 18. Kg3 c5 19. c4 Bc6 20. Bf4 Kb7 21. Nde1 Nxf4 22. Kxf4 g5+>, which transposes back to the position after move 23 here.

Whyld (1998) explains <9...h6 10 g3 added to make the score play correctly> but his source, <Philadelphia Inquirer 8-5-1910>, is also mine, and one can only think an unclear copy explains his misreading.
