Kibitzer's Corner
Dec-15-05  notyetagm: <What in the world was Black trying to accomplish in this game?> I know that Malakhov needed only a draw here to advance but, my goodness, he seemed to do nothing the whole game but sit back and wait for Magnus' attack to finish him.
Aug-25-07  smarterthanbobby: the timing of the attack with blacks
queen ( baited ) into the corner and
relagated to nothing was just awesome.
THE attack was like a surgeon going to work!.... and just a thought what was black to gain by sitting over in never
never land... bye move 20 look how many
moves blacks queen is locked in there?
before it can help in protection with
the king/trade or hold off whites queen! wow... was this brillance on magnus or just bad play from black?
any thoughts? all 3? what do you all think? moves 28 to the end... the finish reminds me of someone we all know well! how nice to see crisp kill moves...
Apr-13-09  notyetagm: In this game Carlsen makes beating a 2670 look easy.
Jan-26-14  GREYSTRIPE: This Ciceronian game of Tournament Chess Quality is a diatribe on the worthiness of forwarding chess-pieces-of-note~. Carlsen exemplified the Center-Games-Holds while keeping orthodox traditions of Rooks-Ottomans at keeps-for-goods. The best values of chess-play are in the depths thus the tides-of-Andrews in the Schooner. The wherewithal did not escape Magnus Carlsen Grand Champion of Chess-Tournaments Plays and his nerves-of-steel during pressure at the chess-board are both germane and arete. Magnus Carlsen is a superb Chess Champion of World Dimensions and is to be respected in the World. His Rooks-Holds are unquestionable. The Center Held.
