Here in the States, first week of February, sound planning more or less depends upon Punxsutawney Phil's prediction. Of course, it's just a prediction from a groundhog, king for a day. When PP sees his shadow, it's six more weeks of winter. In reality, the weather can take a turn without much warning.

These two ignored the weather and played a fairly even game, but castling opposite must be decisive: S Landau vs Euwe, 1939
