Jun-23-05  InspiredByMorphy: This is my favorite defense against 1.d4 (even after the recommendations against it.) . Here is a good game if anybody is interested in this line. Im not sure if this is Bill Wall or not, but the fact remains that black plays very well with this line in the following game...

Campelli,Cris - Wall *0-1*1984*

1. d4 e5 2. dxe5 f6 3. exf6 Nxf6 4. Nf3 Bc5 5. e3 O-O 6. Be2 d5 7. Nc3 c6 8. Na4 Qa5+ 9. Nc3 Ne4 10. Bd2 Nxd2 11. Qxd2 Bf5 12. O-O Qc7 13. Nd4 Bd6 14. f4 Nd7 15. Nxf5 Rxf5 16. Bg4 Rf6 17. Rad1 Raf8 18. Ne2 Qb6 19. Bxd7 Bxf4 20. Qd4 Bxe3+

Jun-23-05  InspiredByMorphy: Another great game involving this line...

Fittante,G 2020 - Faraoni,E 2174 *0-1*2000* Torino ITA

1. d4 e5 2. dxe5 f6 3. exf6 Nxf6 4. Nc3 Bc5 5. e3 d5 6. Nf3 O-O 7. Be2 c6 8. O-O Qe8 9. a3 Bd6 10. b4 Bg4 11. Bb2 Qh5 12. g3 Nbd7 13. Nd4 Ne5 14. f3 Qh3 15. Rf2 Rae8 16. Bf1 Qh5 17. Be2 a5 18. b5 a4 19. bxc6 bxc6 20. Nxa4 Qh6 21. Bc1 Ne4 22. Rg2 Bh3 23. fxe4 Bxg2 24. Kxg2 Rf2+ 25. Kxf2 Qxh2+ 26. Ke1 Nc4 27. Bxc4 Bxg3+

Jun-23-05  InspiredByMorphy: I dont recommend 3.exf6 however. 3.e4 looks better to me... Opening Explorer

Feb-24-06  Autoreparaturwerkbau: Open Dorre :) funny one...
Feb-23-14  Conrad93: Wait, this awful gambit actually won a game?

I understand the Dutch Gambit, but giving up two pawns on your own kingside early in the opening?

Does not compute!

Aug-19-21  Autoreparaturwerkbau: After only 4 moves there was completely new game. White was ahead early on due to unusual black's gambit but then white made several mistakes:

9.b3 - better was c4 (+1,7), a3 or h3

12.♗b2 - better was ♘d3 (+3,7) or ♘xg4

13.♘xg4 - better was ♘d3 (+3,9) or b4

14.♘d2?? - <much> better was ♗a3

or b4 (both +3,4); Nd2 completely succumbs the lead (eval. 0,0)

15.e3?? - <much> better was Bf3

that holds drawish position; e3 enters losing position (around -3,0 evaluation)

16.Rxf2 - better was Qe1; Rxf2 enters completely lost position (around -6,0 evaluation)

17.Kxf2 - better was almost anything; Kxf2 enters mate-in-2
