Jun-26-05  Knight13: WOW! What a great game won by William Lewis!
Jun-26-05  THE pawn: Lol, after watching this game, I played a few games and the exact same moves occured in one of them. ( But I never play this opening against someone strong, so I must admit that it was one of my friends, with a very low estimated rating)
Feb-04-06  Mate Hunter: Instead of 7...h6 black would play 7...c6, after 7...h6 black couldn't defence the king.
Feb-08-13  RPdigital: Great game, but Lewis missed 10.Re8#
Feb-08-13  RPdigital: And 10.Nxf7# Beautiful!
Feb-08-13  thomastonk: <RPdigital> No, you missed something.
Jul-31-16  Alexandro: Yeah that white king was in check... Lol
Dec-03-17  RKnight: Is there a clearer illustration of the need for piece development than this game? All of black's pieces except the queen are in their original squares as black is mated.
Nov-29-19  sea7kenp: I'll bet that Black was busy congratulating himself over winning a Piece, when he got Mated.

  fredthebear: Tis likely so <sea7kenp>.

Stockfish recommends 8...c6 which drops the Black queen for less material.

William Lewis was one of the greatest players in his day.
