fm avari viraf: I have won many games with Levenvish variation due to it's concealed threats players become prey. Even Spassky as boy was also a victim!
Aug-02-08  JonathanJ: but 11.Nxd1 seems to be an error. i think that Kxd1 is better.

fm avari viraf: <Jonathan J. but 11.Nxd1 seems to be an error. i think that Kxd1 is better.> I think, it's vice versa, as Kxd1? would allow Black to fork the King & the Rook with Nf2+ but it happens so don't worry my dear.

plang: Pandolfini gives both 11 Nxd1 and 11 Kxd1 as leading to a solid White advantage. This is a nice line for White; I wonder why it is no longer played. Must be out of fashion.
Jan-08-14  Eduardo Bermudez: I like this trap too much !
Jan-08-14  parisattack: 6. ...Bg7 basically a (modest) blunder against the Levenfisch. But its such a nice trap, I had several Dragonners go right for all of it to ...Kf8.
Apr-15-22  cehertan: Surprised Kashdan took so long to resign.
