Kibitzer's Corner
Jul-08-05  InspiredByMorphy: 13. ...d5 and 15. ...e3 are sneaky. Black is then 3 pawns down, but the development attained compensates. White takes the bait instead of developing and gets overpowered. However I do have a question regarding whites play. Why not 20. Kc1 ?
Jul-08-05  sneaky pete: <InspiredByMorphy> After 20.Kc1 Qxe4 21.Nxe4 Bf3 wins (22.Nf2 Bxh1 23.Nxh1 Rxh2).
Jul-08-05  InspiredByMorphy: <sneaky pete> Thanks. The final move in your variation is devastating.
Aug-19-05  taljechin: better is 8.g3 . Admittedly black did play inspiredly in the game e.g, 9...g5! & 10...Bh6!
Jul-01-06  KingG: Ouch! Johansson gave 6...Qe7 a ? in his book on the King's Gambit. However he only looked at the line 7...Nxg4, and didn't consider 7...Nh5.

It shouldn't really be that dangerous though. Fritz 8 gives 8.Bc4, 8.Nd5 and 8.g3 as all good for White, with an evaluation of around 1.50 for all three.
