Kibitzer's Corner
Dec-15-04  patzer2: An instructive endgame deflection is 50...Kc6! After this move, White must exchange his active Knight and drop a decisive pawn.
Dec-15-04  euripides: Watching part of this game live, I though White was fine. Probably the deep positional pawn sacrifice with 31...Ne6 was the critical factor, as Black thereafter gets control of the d file and is able to exchange down to the N vs bad bishop ending that was always a possibility. 32 Nxd6 may be a decisive error, though it looked fine at the time. By move 42 White is dead lost.

beenthere240: The decision to exchange queens looks bad. Aftter 41. Bxd2, black's b pawn is threatened and the ceiling won't fall in so fast. However, it still looks bleak for white since the white bishop is so bad.
Dec-15-04  euripides: (beenthere> If 41 Bxd2 then one interesting possibility is 41...Nxb3 42 Bxf4 Nd4 (or possible Bc5+) and it looks good for Black e.g. 43 Nxd4 Qxd4+ followed by exf4 or 43 Qb2 Nxb4 44 cb Qd4+ 45 Kh2 exf4 with Bc5 to follow. I'm not sure whether Black then wins with the K-side attack.

One possibility I noticed during the game was 50 Na7 but it's pretty dismal.
