sleepyirv: Amazing manuever with the White rook near the end. Rooks belong behind passed pawns!
Feb-26-11  Meatwad: I really like the logical simplicity of this game. I have to wonder if 20. Nxf4 was a mistake - it seems like after this point it is all downhill. Although perhaps after 20. Rhg1 Black simply cracks open the center anyway.

Pawn and Two: Gligoric, in his book, "I Play Against Pieces", indicated that 17.Bxe6 was an error. "A mistake after which the chances pass to the opponent. White should have continued 17.f3 with an equal game."

Gligoric explained that after 17.Bxe6, Black will use his doubled e-pawn for a repeat attack on the white center.

Oct-24-13  Howard: The endgame phase was well analyzed by Pal Benko in his endgame game in Chess Life in 1981, shortly after the Lone Pine event took place.
