Kibitzer's Corner
Jun-25-04  AdrianP: Did Chukky lose on time? He's worse but it doesn't seem to me to be resignation time - especially given that this is the game which knocked him out of the World Championship.

Chukky's style is probably not best suited to rapidplay?

Jun-25-04  crafty: 28. ♔g2 ♔f8 29. e3 dxe3 30. fxe3 ♔e7 31. ♔f3   (eval -1.25; depth 17 ply; 750M nodes)
Jun-25-04  Jim Bartle: I wondered about that myself, though Ivanchuk does have a history of resigning games early, where he may be "lost" but still has plenty of chances to resist.
Jun-25-04  aboynamedgeorge: I was told there was some type of controversy at the site, where his opponent was protesting about something, and he just resigned instead of having to deal with it.
Sep-14-05  iron maiden: It's definitely a black win, but with stakes this high it's surprising Ivanchuk didn't bother playing on.
Jun-01-11  wordfunph: <AdrianP: Did Chukky lose on time?>

"...when he resigned he had about 20 minutes left on his clock."

- GM Rustam Kasimdzhanov (game annotated in NIC Magazine 2004/06)
