Feb-09-06  Nostalgia: I understand 21. ... Rfe8 to make space for the queen to defend g8, but even if the white bishop didn't chase the queen down, wouldn't 23. Bh6 be winning, also?

Would (20-21) ... g6 have been so bad?

-Joe

Feb-09-06  Toastman: 23. Bh6 is worse than 23.Bc5 because it gives the opportunity for the response 23. ...Bg6
Feb-10-06  Nostalgia: True. My point was even if the white bishop couldn't get to c5 (the d-pawn in the way, for example), defending the pawn with the Queen still seems a worse idea than pushing the g-pawn. The way I see it, after 23. Bh6 Bg6, the queen can't come to e8. White will win the g-pawn by force. I know it's not immediate mate, but I think this weakens black's position far more than g6, no? -Joe
Feb-11-06  iamverywellatchess: I do not agree with your purchase.

White was simply matched-over here! Look at the ratings to tell you that you agree with me!

Feb-12-06  blingice: I'd say "?" to "?" is pretty even.
