Oct-17-04  Calculoso: What about declining the rook with 10. ... d6 or 10. ... d5?

  tpstar: <Calculoso> 10 ... d6 = Sascha Schiffers vs Mi Reinert, 1999 & 10 ... d5 = C Corte vs Julio Bolbochan, 1946

Black can equalize with 9 ... d5! instead.

Apr-18-06  hayton3: <tpstar> <Black can equalize with 9 ... d5! instead.> That is inaccurate - Black is worse in all lines beginning 8...Nxc3

After 9...d5 theory as per L Palmer vs R L Perry, 1974

Mar-23-07  gauer: I can just read the Game of the Day title now: Heisman Trophy
Aug-20-08  Infohunter: <hayton3: <tpstar> <Black can equalize with 9 ... d5! instead.> That is inaccurate - Black is worse in all lines beginning 8...Nxc3

After 9...d5 theory as per L Palmer vs R L Perry, 1974>

I assume you are referring to the first kibitz at the game L Palmer vs R L Perry, 1974, by <sneaky pete>. I would have to say that while 9...d5 cannot be said to "equalize", it still offers Black better chances than 9...Bxc3.

Aug-04-16  pumping707: Nice trap
