| Jun-08-04 | | Everett: Nice little combo here. I think it's in 300 Essential Chess Positions or somesuch by Lev Alburt. Love that book. Small, fits in the back pocket, and has some great positions. Plus, the cover has Alburt with a hot woman (his wife?) looking over his shoulder, perhaps implying that all good chessplayers get the girls. HA! Either not true, or I'm a mere woodpusher ;(. I don't want to read or get involved into politics here too much, though I made that mistake before. Perhaps if we ignore it and just skip over what those individuals say, when not talking about chess, it'll all get better. There isn't enough debate, serious or light, concerning much of the politics in the US. If people can voice something here, great. But many just scream at each other through exclamation marks and bold letters. No one is trying to change anyone's opinion, but rather are trying to show the other up. Hope something positive comes of these communications, but don't think it'll happen. Alright, I'm off the podium. Back to chess.

| Jun-09-04 | | Elrathia Kingi: It really looks to me like black has two major failing points: 4...Qxd5, which may or may not be completely flawed, and 8...h6? which gave white a huge time advantage and put black behind in development, creating the nice little sacrifice that brought the game to a close. |

However, looking again, I see that the queen on d5 combined with the subsequent b6 creates great weaknesses that cause the failing of the defence. I find this discussion hillarious. Nobody is willing to budge an inch, making it utterly worthless, and both sides come off sounding utterly rediculous. Check out some sites on the war:
