Kibitzer's Corner
Mar-28-03  refutor: shirov puts a little fire on board v. ljubojevic ;)
Sep-22-03  galadriel: i think at 20)fg6 shirov had calculated the game perfectly......a great game.
Sep-23-03  drukenknight: wouldnt it be better to double rooks with 33...Rc7?
Sep-23-03  AdrianP: <drunkenknight> it looks hopeless for B by move after 33...Rc7, perhaps 34. Qb6, threatening to pick up the d-pawn with check...? or probably better, Qf6+ picking up either the d-pawn or g-pawn with check depending on where the K goes. After taking the g-pawn, W can defend c2 by e5.
Sep-24-03  drukenknight: it looks bad, what about 25...Rb8 to put more pressure on b2/Q?
Sep-25-03  AdrianP: Doesn't 25...Rb8 simply drop the c5 pawn to Bxc5, leaving B in horrible trouble on e7. I can see that B has some threats e.g. Qf4+, Bxb2+, and discoveries from the b7 bishop but I can't really see any of them going anywhere...?
Sep-26-03  drukenknight: hmmm 26 Bxc5 Qf4+
Sep-26-03  humanehuman: poor lubo overmatched............hes a player from the 80s.....
