Kibitzer's Corner
Jun-06-03  patzer2: Black cannot stop white from eating the backward pawn on d6, leaving him helpless against white's passed pawns. For example, 31...Qb6 32. Ne4 and the pawn at d6 falls, destroying any last chance for black in this game.

I've noticed that most of the impressive recent wins against the Benko involve declining the gambit, making aggressive moves to take the center and then maneuvering for a win on the queenside.

Apr-30-04  InspiredByMorphy: I think 6.e5 7. e4 d6 would have given black a more comfortable game than what was played, as there are no weakness and more ease in which to develop pieces.
Jun-09-05  sharkbenjamin: 22...dxe5 winning a pawn what follow up does white have? 23.fxe5 Bxe5 24.Ng4 . At this point black has several problems. Black's Bishop must protect itself. The pawn on e7 is in danger. The black squares f6 and h6 are threaten. I believe white has a decisive advantage.
Jun-09-05  Everett: 15...Ba6 exchanging light bishops may not be best here. Also, wasting tempi to push the a-pawn when h6 would take some pressure off may be worth looking into.
Dec-12-05  Albertan: GM John Fedorowicz analyzes some of this game at http://chess.fm/ as part of his analysis of the game between GM Cheparinov and GM Ivanchuk.
Apr-22-10  birthtimes: 8...Bg4 seems to be a better line for Black...
May-11-15  full blown: White move 6 must. Be NA3 & white 11 BE2 how ND2 are these games bogus? This is u I stick to books don't waste my time with trash please
Jul-26-17  Howard: This game is fully annotated by the Fed in the latest issue of American Chess Magazine.
