FSR: 7...Bxf3! is virtually forced, when 8.gxf3! Qxd4 9.Qxd4 Nxd4 10.Nb5! is difficult for Black. Opening Explorer I was on the wrong side of this many years ago, playing 10...Ne6 11.f4!? (as I recall, Marc Esserman says that 11.Nxa7!! crushes) a6 (immediately after playing this move I saw the refutation) 12.f5! and I was annihilated.

fredthebear: Generally, the sooner the center opens by pawn exchanges, the sharper the opening. FSR has offered an alternative line worth knowing.

Here, Black chose 9...0-0-0 instead of moving his en prise knight, which resulted in dropping that piece. Had the knight moved, 10.Bb5 pins the Black queen to her king.
