Kibitzer's Corner
Mar-11-05  lopium: Nice Anand's moves.
Jun-04-05  alexandrovm: What's this? I would say terrible blunders by Bacrot, on move 21 and 17.
Jun-04-05  THE pawn: Yes, they were. Bacrot is somewhat overrated. His rating is quite high, but the only reason why it's so high is that he never plays against foes like anand or topalov etc. And when he does, he gets beaten.
Jun-04-05  acirce: He has made huge progress only the latest year, during which he has had fine results against top players, such as draws against Kasparov, Leko, Ivanchuk, Svidler etc. Beyond that, generally his results against players in the 2700 area does not seem to indicate he's overrated at all. More recent results are more relevant than games from several years ago. I think he'll do fine in Dortmund.
Jun-04-05  iron maiden: <THE pawn> I don't think losing a rapid game against Anand is definite evidence that a player is overrated.
Jun-04-05  Boomie: White had a good game after the simple 17. ♗xb6 ♖ab8 18. ♕a3 ♖xb6 19. ♖d7
Jan-29-07  dramas79: Last move is like a thunderbolt!
Jan-29-07  who: 21... black to play and win would make a nice Wed puzzle someday.
Oct-07-07  notyetagm: <lopium: Nice Anand's moves.>

Yes, one strong move after another by Anand to end the game with 21 ... ♕h5-e2!, exploiting White's <WEAK BACK RANK>.

Feb-10-09  ahmadov: This is an amazing game... Playing this through Guess the Move, my score was over par but still I could not guess the most beautiful move of the game (21...Qe2) correctly...
Aug-13-12  LoveThatJoker: Guess-the-Move Final Score:

Bacrot vs Anand, 2001.
YOU ARE PLAYING THE ROLE OF ANAND.
Your score: 23 (par = 15)

PS. Par is now 16.

Aug-13-12  master of defence: What´s wrong with 17.Bxb6 axb6 18.Qxb6, winning a pawn?
Aug-13-12  Cemoblanca: Towards the end of the game Etienne played against the wall, or rather, on the wrong side. The Queen on a4 & the Rook on a6 are looking delightful. What a nice couple. :D
