Kibitzer's Corner
Oct-14-07  engmaster: 4 ...Nf6 trying to counter the bird from the edges of the board is not a good aproach against the Bird. Nunn tried and also failed in H. Danielsen Nunn 1999. This plays into whites hands of central control with the extra move.
Oct-14-07  faulenzer: You do realize that Black won this game, right?

whiteshark: It's really incredible that 3 connected passed pawns on the queenside can't compensate the thingy.

NM JRousselle: I have been trying to tell my students for YEARS that a piece is often better than 3 pawns--even in the endgames. Yet it's a tough sell. I'm gonna have to remember this game.
