Kibitzer's Corner
Sep-05-04  BadTemper: wow.
Jun-30-06  KingG: Kasparov missed a couple of wins in this game.

29...Bxf5?(29...Re1 30.h4 h5 31.Rg5 Qg1+ 32.Kh3 Nd4 33.Nxd4 Qxd4 34.Rxd6 Be4 )

then Movsesian misses a draw with 34.Qf4?(34.Rdxg6+ hxg6 35.Rxg6+ fxg6 36.Qxg6+ Kf8 37.Qd6+)

and finally Kasparov misses his last chance with 34...Re2?(34...Rb2!! 35.Rd8+ (35.Qf6? Qxg2+!! 36.Kxg2 Re2+ 37.Kh3 Rh2+!! 38.Kxh2 Nf3+ 39.Kh1 Rh2#; 35.Qd4? Qh2+!! 36.Kxh2 Nf3+ 37.Kh3 Rh1+ 38.Bxh1 Rh2#) 35...Kg7 36.Qd4+ Qxd4 37.Rxd4 Re2 38.Rf4 f5! )

Of course, this was simul, so Kasparov's slip-ups can be excused. Still, it's a shame he couldn't put the finishing touch on such a great game.
