Kibitzer's Corner
Nov-12-03  Bears092: ouch, losing to 1...f6
Nov-12-03  John Doe: What the heck was that? I gotta try that against someone in a tournament, I want to see his reaction.
Apr-23-04  InspiredByMorphy: A unique game in it is the only winning example in the database of 1.e4 f6 2.d4 Kf7 The other is a draw.
Apr-23-04  Brian Watson: Can white get any joy out of 17.Bxf7+ Kxf7 18.Qh5+ Kg8 19.g6 Rxf2 20.Ne4 or 20.Rf1 ?
Apr-23-04  InspiredByMorphy: <Brian Watson> 17.Bxf7+ Kxf7 18.Qh5+ Kg8 19.g6 looks like a good idea if Black doesent play 19.Nxg6 20.Qxg6 Qf7 threatening to exchange queens a pawn up while threatening to win the d pawn (black could play 20.Rxf2 but I would be more interested in developing my pieces). It also clears a spot for the knight to be posted on d7, which in turn activates blacks queen rook.
Aug-17-04  InspiredByMorphy: Still a fun game to watch. Black is sneaky.
May-17-05  cade: I was going to upload this game as an example of the Fried Fox defence. Nice to see it is already here. An interesting novelty to say the least.
Jan-16-06  debarilaw: What is the Fried Fox defense?
Feb-18-06  blingice: <debarilaw> 1. e4..f6 2. d4..♔f7 according to Chessmaster.
Aug-31-06  fja4: Others call it the Pork Chop or the Schmoe!
May-12-07  kevindeane: a friend of mine showed me something very similar to this and it was used to black's advantage by running white's time out!
May-12-07  kevindeane: 1. e4..f6 2. d4..g6 3. Nc3..Kf7 4. Bc4+.. e6
I mean just pushing up pawns!! It was crazy!
May-12-07  kevindeane: Before you knew it, all of black's pawns were on the 6th rank and he's just moving pieces around all over the place (down side is he loses his queen early) and time is just ticking away!
May-12-07  kevindeane: pretty arrogant game!!
Nov-07-07  porgue: I call it the Drunken King!!!
Jul-23-23  generror: <Bears092:> ouch, losing to 1...f6>
