plang: Black delayed ..Qc7 and went on to use the rarely played 12..Na7. 14 a4 was new, 14 Nf1 had been played before. After Black committed his rooks to the kingside White changed plans with 17 N1d2 concentrating his forces on the queenside. Black might have considered 18..Nh5!? with the idea of ..g6 and ..f5(if White responds 19 Nxe5 Black obtains counterplay after 19..Rxe5 20 f4..Nxf4 21 Bxf4..Ree8). 22 Ra6 would have been an improvement as 22..Ne7? 23 Bd3..Nexd5 24 exd..e4 25 Nxe4..Nxe4 26 Bxb5 is favorable for White. 23..cxb would have been better so as to use the c-file for counterplay. A quicker win would have been 44 Rb7..Nxf6 45 Rxb6..Nxd7 46 Rxd6..Rd8 47 Ra7.
